Blocking God’s love
Luk 7:37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
When Jesus was asked about the woman his reply was how she showed him great love. Her great love for him came because he had forgiven her a huge debt of sins. She felt his great love by him forgiving her, and in return was able to show that great love.
Luk_7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
The word also tells us, we are forgiven as we forgive others, for how can we believe Christ died for us and deny that he died for another? If we deny forgiveness we cannot feel the great love that God shows us by our being forgiven. We control how much of God’s love we desire to feel, the more we feel the more we can show others.
Mat_6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat_6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Mar_11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

So very true Lewis....How can God forgive us, if we refuse to forgive others, who have hurt us?
Once we learn to forgive, His love shows no boundary....His love will pour out, which will shine through us....
Forgive, and let go....Let God inside with His love....A love that grows deeper and deeper....A love that is unending......
@ellie1945 - Amen Ellie!! What we sow we definitely shall reap.
Jesus says "you who are without sin throw the first stone." I guss that means we have no right at all to judge anyone!
Blocking His Love, can come in many ways. We can say for one we are not good enough for it. Or refuse love from some like in a hugh that He wants someone else to give us, etc. This is very good Bro. Lewis. Bro. Doc
@Gabriel333 - It states that when 2e ask for forgiveness, and taught that if we mean it from our hearts… we’re forgiven, so does that count as no sin?
Not that I judge others, I can no more stand before God for them, than they can for me. And since I fear more what God will do to me than mankind… ~*Smiles*~
@BroDoc - I learned this week that also seeing yourself as less than God sees you is also blocking and cursing at God! I have spent most of my life, looking at things others have done to me, and that God must hate me... seeing myself as less is like slapping God in the face, as long as I am still here I do serve more of a purpose than others just to abuse me. Whether it is just to my kids, or through volunteering, or the empathy I can now have towards others who walk my path God led me down
@Gabriel333 - Amen Sis Janet, we must believe that Jesus died for all not just our self. Thank you!
@BroDoc - Amen Bro Doc, and thank you. His love is always there, it is up to us to accept it or reject it.
@Growedup - The sins have been paid for in full, it is through our accepting we believe and recieve. God sees us as perfect saints, it is our growing into that image for us to believe it also. Without a vision man perishes, our vision is that we will be conformed into the image of Christ, and that is how God sees us but to recieve it is our part.

Hi Lewis...God loves us more than we will ever know but He does not see us as perfect saints. We can never be that in this life. What He wants is for us to keep trying and when we fall we ask His forgiveness and make ammends. Parents love their children with all their hearts but they know they are far from perfect and can be quite naughty at times. We are God's children - He scolds us for our own good.....He hurts when we turn away from Him but He can never ever stop loving us. Where we go after this life is determined on the state of our souls at death. He wants all to be saved, that's why He died for us. We keep trying - if we fall we get up and try again. Never give up trying to be what He wants us to be!

Hi Bev,
If we ask for forgiveness we are truly forgiven.. but sometimes our sin causes problems for others so we have to make ammends. If someone breaks a window they can say "Sorry" but they still have to pay for it.
I've just received a message on this very topic...I'll post it in my site for anyone who wants to read it.
@Growedup - It it is very good that you have learned this kind of lesson, and it is good. Bro. Doc
this is a good post, but wsithout repentance, there is no forgiveness.
@liz4christ - Thank you Liz, without seeing our sins we shall never repent, and our forgiveness is based upon how we forgive others. Jesus has done paid for all the sins, the choice to accept it or not depends upon us.
@Lewis1122 - read Luke 13:1-5

I recently caught a 5am TV sermon from a man I’ve never seen, basically I turned the TV on and he was there… he stated that all too often (and I am guilty of this too) we think God is against us because of the recent things we’ve done… and than went on to state in the old times God was, but because Jesus died for us he no longer is, and the explanation of “covered in the blood”… If God is FOR us who can be against us? And use “God is for me” as a positive affirmation. And how spiritually mature people are better able to ride out the storms life brings because they can see that bigger picture, where as someone like me is trying to see through the current situation… “the clouds will part”.
I’ve been up and down so often every night… I can be in a dead sleep, dreaming, and I am snapped awake for no reason! Starting to wonder if my neighbors ever sleep, last night was from actual walking, banging noises, and I stood up in bed to hit the ceiling (quiet after so I went back to sleep)
@liz4christ - I'll be reading this too
@Growedup - Amen God is for us! The forgiveness is there, Jesus died once paying all the debt due, it is up to us to accept it or not.
