Innocent or guilty
Lately I have been reading many more comments among blacks calling for riots if Mr. Zimmerman is found innocent. Will that persuade the ruling, I often wonder if the squeaky wheel does get the oil. The case was considered justifiable until it drew attention because of the race.
Over the years in my opinion many injustices have occurred to lubricate the squeaky wheel, we shall see how it comes forth this time.
The main witness for the prosecution had many discrepancies in her story. One witness testified that they saw Mr. Martin standing over Mr. Zimmerman beating him as Mr. Zimmerman yelled for help.
The Sanford police did not charge Mr. Zimmerman in the killing, citing insufficient evidence and Florida’s expansive “stand your ground” law, but that decision provoked national protests. Six weeks later, after Ms. Corey was assigned to the case, Mr. Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder. By CARA BUCKLEY The New York Times

O’Mara said Tuesday that if prosecutors start bringing up Zimmerman’s past, the defense will dig into Martin’s past, including fights. The judge had ruled previously that Martin’s past fights, drug use and school records couldn’t be mentioned in opening statements.

Being followed aggravated the cocky young football player Mr. Martin. I believe Mr. Martin attacked Mr. Zimmerman and was violently assaulting him, at which point Mr. Zimmerman shot Mr. Martin.

Well, it’s no wonder! President Obama said that if he had a son he’d look like Trayvon Martin.
That pretty much forced the DA to create a silk purse out of a sow’s ear and ruin George Zimmerman’s life by charging him with murder.
Like anything and everything President Obama has touched, it has turned into a complete farce. And that includes the notion that Obama wants to heal race relations.
The exact opposite is true. So let’s all get ready for Rodney King Riots – The Sequel.
@ImNotUglyIJustNeedLove - I agree, he should not have said a word about the incident, let alone try to make out that Trayvon Martin was such a good kid, his school records paint a different picture of him.
As much anger that has been growing, I wonder if the riots happen, if this time it wont be much worse.

Race riots in a state where it’s legal to carry a gun and protect yourself may not look the same as race riots in California……..I had a contact on facebook post a picture of martin with a “justice for martin” message……..I ditched her immediately……..I’m sick of racism on either side……sick to death of it……..and I agree, asking someone what they are doing between some houses late at night in a neighborhood where robberies had been taking place is NOT out of line…….nor does it justify giving that person a beating.
I wish I could go along with this, but….It’s just not what it seems….The E.R. Doctor stated that Zimmerman’s wounds were insignificant….Meaning they were superficial….Meaning, they could have been done by Mr. Zimmerman himself…..By using a small rock, or laying down on the sidewalk, and banging his head himself…..
If, and this has been brought up numerous times, if this happened the exact way that Zimmerman says, then why wasn’t there any residue around the bullet hole (meaning powder buns from the gun)?
Evidence is showing….There was NO DNA from Martin found on George Zimmerman…..There were scratches on Zimmerman, that he claimed Martin did, yet, there were NO DNA of Zimmerman under Martin’s fingernails….And get this…..There was blood found on Zimmerman, that was both from him, and from Martin……But get this…..
Blood from Zimmerman was found on the shirt that Martin was wearing under his hooded jacket, but…..None of Zimmerman’s blood was found on the hooded jacket Martin was wearing…..
Zimmerman lied to the Judge from the beginning….He told the judge he did not have money for an attorney, nor to pay for a high bail….He was appointed an attorney, and low bail was set…..Zimmerman failed to mention, that he was receiving money, right and left, from people who believed his story, and started sending money….Before the police even started investigating the incident….He posted a blog telling the people he had to kill a man for attacking him, and he doesn’t have any money for an attorney, if the police should decide to press charges…..Like you said Lewis, the police thought it was justifiable……
What started the investigation, was conflicting stories from witnesses….
Shortly after the first of the year, the judge heard the truth, about the amount of money that Zimmerman had….Zimmerman’s wife, who originally stated that they didn’t have money, changed her story…She became afraid that when they (the state) found out about it, she’d get in big trouble too, so she told the truth…..Zimmerman had over $130,000.00…People sent to him, in the bank, and more money was still being sent…..The judge ordered his arrest, and the next court hearing, the judge demanded the truth…..When he heard the truth, he voided the original court order, set a higher bail, and ordered Zimmerman to pay for his own attorney…..
And now comes the trial…..
I did not get my information from the news paper, the Associate Press, or gossip mag…..My only news on the case, has come from CBS News…And right now, it sounds as if Zimmerman will be able to walk away…..What’s so dog gone frustrating is the talk about racial riots….You see, Zimmerman, though his name doesn’t prove it, is Latino….
@alterb4ego - I too am strongly against racism, so many try so hard to compensate for the racism that they have made it reverse discrimination. Paula Deen is loosing all kinds of money for using the N word yet all these black rappers use that same N word and make money. Also hiring people because of their color to me seems just as screwed up as not hiring because of their color. There is Black entertainment TV there is Black college fund, is that not continuing racism? It all has to stop, on both side or it will grow much worse.
I feel if there are riots this time it will be much worse because not only because of race tensions but because of the financial problems that are happening.
@ellie1945 - I agree Ellie it seems strange that his being Hispanic hasnt been made more an issue than he being white. Perhaps like OJ’s trial it will all depend on who are the jurors instead of the evidence. I do believe race does make a difference it used to more to the whites, now I believe it does more to the blacks. Perhaps that is why our president is black, between the blacks and the Hispanics?
I hadnt heard about the blood evidence, but as far as the money for an attorney it would frustrate the tar out of me to know I have to spend my money to prove that I am innocent if I believe I am, so I understand his lying about that. I dont think lying is ever right, but I understand why a person would lie about that.
