As I was reading 2 Kings Chapter 10 I could see how a believer who was true to his faith would be protected. King Jehu wanted to get rid of all the Baal worshippers. So he had a great feast, and any that worshipped Baal was supposed to come, all those that showed up were killed. Living our faith does much to protect us, it keeps us out of places we should not be, and it keeps us from befriending those we should not be friend. As our faith grows our living according to that faith protects us in many ways.

Obtain favor through sacrifice
Pro_11:27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
Last week my brother and I went to my brother in law David’s property to turkey hunt. My brother most often gets a turkey, and I tend to average getting one more than not. We both had a turkey come in but not close enough to obtain either one, which was strange. Since those were the only chances we had, we decided to go to the house and visit my brother in law David. We spent the rest of the day with him, he grilled up some burgers and then we went and checked his 5 ponds for any otters. The otters are horrible on ponds; they eat all the fish so they are hunted if seen.
The next day my sister called and said David had a wonderful time; she emphasized how he really enjoyed our visit. I had been seeking to know why neither my brother nor I had got a turkey, and her words gave me the answer. If my brother or I had got a turkey since it was so warm we would have left early to keep it from spoiling. Since neither of us got a turkey we spent the day with David who enjoyed the time with us. Our lack of success allowed us to all have more time together which enabled our closeness to be restored. Since he moved out of town and we do not see each other as often our closeness as a family has suffered, but now is restored.
