Freewill
Have you ever asked your self what freewill means to you? To me it means to have the choice, to stay or go. How would you give an animal freewill, you would leave the gate open, and let it decide if it wants to stay with you or not. But if you’re a stranger, the natural instincts of the animal would lead it right through the gate off on its own direction. But if you first show the animal love, then there is a greater chance it would stay. If it loves you enough or has become dependent upon you enough, it will stay for sure; basically its freewill has been replaced by love or dependency.
God works in mysterious ways, in that way we cannot begin to feel dependent upon God causing us to give up our freewill just to receive from him. This simply means giving to get, which would feed self making our end worse.
God wants us to give up our freewill and follow his will out of love. But if we follow God’s will just too please Him, then we begin to see God no different than man. We can please man by simply doing every thing his way. So what is the reason which would cause us to give up our freewill to follow God’s will? As we begin to see that by following God’s will we are actually blessing other people, we begin seeing that following God’s will is showing others love. Jesus followed God’s will and died for all mankind, the ultimate expression of love. We give up our freewill to follow God’s will to express love to the world.
So how could God give man freewill, He placed in the Garden of Eden one tree which he gave commandment not to partake of.

People, especially unbelievers, ask all of the time that if God is so good, why do so many bad things happen………I tell them it is because we have free will and the Lord wants us to choose to do good, but not all people do……those same people will criticize God for being just and bringing punishment as he did in the old testament. SMH…….I think this earth is our testing ground……to see if we belong in heaven or not…….I really do
@alterb4ego - Amen Crystal! I too see this earth as a training place, God’s word is being proven so when it is all over we cannot deny anything. Here in Mo if you leave yoru keys in the car and it gets stolen the insurance company wont cover yoru loss. A simple way of saying it is their fault, many dont want to accept most of their suffering is that they left the keys in the car. If we are hurt through our friends we have the wrong friends, our friends and us have to have something in common. If something happens where we are, in many cases we shouldnt have been there in the first place. Mental depression from all the horrible things happening in the world, we watch the wrong shows. Our pet bites some one, that was a possibility when we got a pet. We cant afford our bills, for the most part that comes when we live paycheck to paycheck because we have to have what every one else has. See, we leave the keys in the car then want to blame the theif. Thank you!
Thank you for posting this, it is a good blog. God’s way is worthy, I can’t begin tell you of the things he has done for me.
@TexasWoman59 - Amen Liz!! His ways has blessed my life so much by following his will my marriage and relationship with others is a blessing and still getting better.
You are so right Lewis…And how could I possibly add any more to what you say? Crystal said it all……To follow God….A Wonderful Blessing, A Wonderful gift of love…..Free will can never ever compare to what God can, and does do for us….
@ellie1945 - Amen Ellie, when we follow God’s will our interaction with others is a blessing and not a curse. The word tells us, if we cannot love those we see then how can we love God who we dont see. Thank you!
I think wisdom means doing things God’s way.
Freewill means Bro. Lewis, that we are not forced to do things just because we have too. We can chose to or not too follow Yahvahosha, and do it His way. If we choose to do it our way which is our freewill we will miss out in the end. We are never forced to do anything for Yahvah. Bro. Doc
@BroDoc - Agreed Bro Doc, our choice that will affect us now and in the end. Thank you!
@mtngirlsouth - Thankyou for the visit.
@ImNotUglyIJustNeedLove - Amen Bro Billy, that is true wisdom doing the will of God.
Free Will is a bit of a double-edged sword… yes I have
free will, which leads to me making more mistakes than I’d like, and in a
perpetual swinging door of apologizes as I make those mistakes! I fully get the replacement with love/dependency. I read a psychological
piece a while back on marriage being describe in much the same way. And how
many stay together because the other is meeting a need of some kind. The piece
also covered it in such a way to describe how it leads to many divorces. I
still think in the case of many animals they’d still run if the gate were open,
they need continual attention and a stranger walking by…they lack the
self-control and accountability most humans do. Hahaha Most humans at a young age lack self constraint. The frontal
lobe of the brain doesn’t fully form until the age of 25, which is why
teenagers exhibit high-risk behaviors, they not only lack experience, but they
lack the ability in many ways. My poor child isn’t given the chance to use that
as an excuse with me, but I try not to be so hard on him (compared to peers he
isn’t so bad).
@BroDoc - I hope and pray I “choose” to make the right
decisions!!!
@Growedup - Just like those animals we even adults are to overcome with desire and run out that gate. Look how many spouses as dogs are drawn away after another when they know better. I read that before about children not thinking about the affects of their actions, but, how many adults do? It to me is all training and the changing of our desires. In the Garden of Eden Eve was tempted in three ways, Lust of the flesh- a fruit good for food, 2 Lust of the eyes- it was a fruit pleasant to the eyes. 3 Pride of life- a fruit to make one wise. First we justify by giving it purpose, second we desire because it attracts us, third we want the reward it offers. Training or fear teaches us to figure in the cost, but as we grow spiritually our desire are changed so we dont have a purpose for it, we arent attracted to it, and we never even think it rewards us.
My belief is this, it wasnt anything in the tree that gave the knowledge of good and evil, it was in the act of disobedience that opened their eyes. I have learnt many valueable lessons through the suffering I have encountered through being disobedeint. Thank you
@Growedup - Making the right choices gets much easier the more we know the word and apply it.
@Growedup - You will do fine Sis. Bev, just make sure what you plan to do is in His will and how can you lose? Bro. Doc
