  • Rude

Over the years of being a Christian I have developed a way of thinking, it is trying to think about others over my self. Because of that it seems much easier to view rude behavior.

On my walk yesterday these are occurrences I consider rude behavior which those doing them I am sure never even thought about. But for Christians putting others first is our goal, to take into consideration how we affect those around us. I just wanted to share how often rude behavior is done and how unless you are thinking about others you will never see it.

There were bike riders on the walking track, which the sign says they are not to be there. But the rude part is they would have the walkers move over for them. Then of course there were those that walked in groups talking, and instead of moving over those passing would have to move off the track. There was also an elderly man, instead of cleaning his lungs out in the grass he spit on the track. Then there were dog walkers who instead of taking their dog to the dog park they took them to the people park. Which is only bad because dogs want to scent every where and the children playing in the grass were exposed to it. The worst part is many allowed their dogs to use the restroom all through out the park and never cleaned it up, which is also a city ordinance. Dog and cat waste can contain harmful bacteria, such as E. coli. In our city we are advised to bury the waste 12 inches deep or flush it down the toilet to prevent contamination of the water ways.

They had signs along the trail leading to the track with location numbers to give if there is an emergency, but all of the signs have been torn down by the teenagers. At the cross walks where motorists are to give way to the walkers, it doesn’t work that way, cars make the walkers wait. Many people eat at the park, and many left their trash on the tables after they were done.

  • I feel this… I enjoy a walk or some morning fishing — well there are places more and more where I don’t go. Litter and foul mouth language and rude behaviors and angry attitude are repulsive. I insist with myself to maintain peace and calm. I insist in myself to be courteous and genuinely caring. So, I avoid some places most of my time. When I am in places with the rude and arrogant and foolish, I mind my self. I am not here to call them names and point at them and revile them. I think I am to be an example of wholesome living.

  • I hear you, to… sigh … it seems the people around us are getting less and less respectful…

We must be the light in the world…I like what Hunt said… it’s true … be example of wholesome living…

Hope you have a great day, Lewis :)

  • @eshunt@revelife - I too enjoy fishing, and have found the liter along the bank horrible. I forgot to add the foul mouth, and the foul languaged rap music, it has become so common sad that I forgot hope I am not being desensitized to it. I have found the more we hate those things, the more they will never come from us. Thankyou!

  • @Sisterinchrst - I agree, we are to be the examples, the light to a dark world. Like I said, I doubt if they even knew what they were doing is wrong. I wouldnt have if God wouldnt have inspired me to think about others. I have found the more I hate those actions, the less they could ever happen in my life. The word tells us to hate sin, in that way we won’t do it. Thank you Jes

Jes- it seems the people around us are getting less and less respectful…

Me – the word tells us 2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

  • I know what you mean Lewis….There are times, that rude rules the day….

This morning, I saw kindness….I was on my way to the store, and was walking on a narrow sidewalk.  Up at the corner, I noticed a young man starting down my way after crossing Market…As he got closer to me, he stepped down off the curb, and walked along the curb, and when he got up to me, he had a smile, and said good morning….That made my day!!  It’s not very often that we come across someone like him….

We, in Nebraska, have the same city laws when it comes to pets…If we are walking our pets, we are to clean up after them, and dispose of it, when we get home, by placing it in our garbage container, or flushing it down the toilet…..Most people obey the law, but sometimes we meet those who don’t…..

When I come across a “Rudie” I just smile and say good morning, or afternoon, depending on what time of day, I’m out for a walk….That usually puts a smile on their face….And the “rudie” is no more…

  • I see what you mean…….I don’t go to the park much but when I do I enjoy it…….I hate when people let their dogs relieve themselves at the lake on the swimming beach.  I’ve seen that happen before.

  • @ellie1945 - That was very nice of the young man, when some one does a nice gesture I try to make a big deal out of it to reinforce it in them. Kindness shown does tend to soften anothers heart, I try to always say hello to every one on my walk. Some of the teenagers will even smile when they see me, when at first they tried not to even make eye contact. Thank you!

  • @alterb4ego - Ohhh I couldnt imagine how horrible that would be on the beach, that would be very gross. I figure most people that have pets get use to them using the bathroom so they no longer realize how horrible it is? We have a park with a track about a block away from our house, it connects by a trail to another park about a mile away with another track. I enjoy the walk, there are woods between the two parks, seen several deer on my walk. Thank you Crystal

  • The reason things are disrespectful is because at home it is not taught. And when you fail to teach means what do you expect? Bro. doc

  • @BroDoc - Agreed Bro Doc!! It all begins at home, these people were mostly adults and seniors but they werent taught, and now dont know to teach their kids. Thank you.
