Have you ever wondered why in Gen 3:9 God asked where Adam and Eve were at? Was their ability to hide that good, or perhaps their guilt separated their minds from God not allowing him that closeness?
I think what it amounts too Bro. Lewis, is Yahvah wanted them to owe up to the fact that they messed up and this is the way He did it. Bro. Doc
Yes, either that or he wanted them to confess what they had done.
@BroDoc - Perhaps, they sure didnt want to accept responsability.
Thankyou
@liz4christ - He gave them the opprutunity to repent, but they didnt.
Thank you
I always believed God knew right where they were. He said that to see if they would admit to hiding and face up to what they had done. Kinda like a parent asking who drew on the walls, when the parent KNOWS who drew on the walls!
@mommadish - I agree! I couldnt imagine God not knowing where any one is. By God asking they admited they were hiding and admited it was because they were naked. Unfortanatly for us they just wouldnt admit it was their fault.
Thank you
Of course God knew where they were. God is teaching mankind through this HOW he ministered to Adam and Eve when they were insisting on sinning. We can extract wisdom from this through exegesis. Adam and Eve were hiding after they sinned. Sin causes us to not be near God, not be around God; we hide from God when we sin. But there is no hiding from God for God is everywhere. There is no sin so bad that God will not find us, minister to us as long as we're one of God's followers.
God Bless,
Brother RobertLeeRE
@RobertLeeRE - I agree! Through our guilt we dont feel God's presence but it is still there, but the fear the guilt creates keeps us trying to hide.
Thank you for the visit and the comment, they are appreciated

@Lewis1122 - Fear, FEAR, we all need fear to grow. Fear can be good and bad. When used right it can be an excellent healthy motivator.
@RobertLeeRE - Agreed, it is fear that leads us to our knees in need.
2Ti_1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1Jn_4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
God knew where they were at...I believe that God wanted them to respond to him....If God had demanded, and not ask, their fear would have kept them silent, so God asked them where they were......
@ellie1945 - Great answer Ellie. Just like when God asked Cain where his brother was, God gave him a chance to admit.
@Lewis1122 - No they didn't repent and therefore they weren't saaaved
@liz4christ - Agreed Liz, there is no forgivness without repentance. For there is no change without acknowledging fault.
I agree, God knew exactly where they were. He wanted them to come to him. To seek him and repentance... I'm wondering if things would have been different if they HAD showed themselves and did this first... gives us the incentive to seek Christ right away at first knowledge of our sin...so that greater consequence doesn't befall on us...
God bless!
@Sisterinchrst - Agreed Jes! By God asking they knew someting wasn't right, they knew they had fear and knew they were naked, that was the first clue that something needed to be fixed. I wonder how many times we too are shown problems in our life and yet not turn in repentance seeking the solotuion. Thank God they did fall, it is through their fall that we have learned to value God's love. The word tells us if you love me keep my commandments, Adam and Eve had no clue at the value of what they had.
Without two flowers to be compared, one to the other, how can any chose which they find more precious in their eye?
